Declan O'Connor
Declan O'Connor was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, in 1957 and only started painting in his thirties. He began with a series of portraits of leading Irish writers, followed by the 1916 seven signatories. The latter collection was purchased by Michael Smurfit and are on display at the K Club, Straffan, County Kildare.
Declan also has work in the Bank of Ireland Collection, Dublin.
Passionate about Connemara, Declan spends long periods painting its bogs, ponies and characters.
