Alina Maksimenko
Alina Maksimenko was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1974 where she now lives and works.
Alina graduated from Kiev Art College in 1993 and started exhibiting in 1996. She has been a member of the BG-ART union of artists since 2001 and a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine since 2003.
Alina's works are to be found in many public collections:The Museum of Modern Art, Kiev, The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, The Museum of History of Kiev and the Bank of Ireland Collection, Dublin.
Her works are also in private collections in Ukraine, Italy, Poland, USA, Ireland, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Croatia.
Alina is an emerging talented young Ukrainian artist and she has had numerous solo shows in Kiev since 1996, along with a major exhibition at the prestigious Ukranian House in Kiev, in 2007.
Alina has had annual solo shows in Paris over the last four years and she is also represented in Prague and Moscow.
"I love this life, this reality around me, which reassures me and has rescued me from my fear of death. My paintings are the synthesis of my childhood wishes and my adult dreams, they are my happy refuge."
